Reporting to the Mine Manager, the Mine Maintenance Superintendent is accountable for all mine maintenance operations. The Maintenance Superintendent will safely plan, organize, manage, execute, and evaluate mobile maintenance work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop, exemplify, and maintain positive and effective leadership within Department.
- Develop and maintain effective professional working relationships with all stakeholders including vendors.
- Effectively lead and participate in short- and long-term strategic planning initiatives
- Manage the maintenance department (supervisors and other staff members) in daily operations to ensure safe and efficient results.
- Hold direct reports and department members accountable to safe and productive work practices as outlined within company standards and procedures.
- Manage departmental budgets to ensure compliance with organizational and strategic expenditure requirements.
- Oversee and manage preventive maintenance processes to ensure the continual safe operations of all equipment.
- Review capital improvement plans and make recommendations; evaluates infrastructure, facilities, and operating systems for repair and maintenance.
- Review and approve job expense reports, cost sheets and inventories.
- Prepare reports that summarize and forecast departmental business activity and financial position as requested.
- Ensure on time and accurate reporting of any incidents that are a result of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
- Establish and maintain continuous improvement work practices that align with the company safety culture and strategic business plan initiatives.
- Comply with all federal acts and regulations, and legal requirements.

- Must be efficient in the use of Excel, Outlook and Word with experience using computer based ERP systems.
- Demonstrated history of a high level of safety leadership.
- Proven experience in managing multiple priorities while maintaining a safe work culture.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have 8 to 10+ years of experience in the mining industry, specifically translatable to mobile maintenance, with a minimum of 5+ years of sound leadership experience at a General Foreman level or above.
- Candidates with more extensive mining maintenance experience are preferred, but consideration will be given to those with solid professional growth record.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Formal vocational/technical certification and training preferred.
